Hello World!

So, I was reminded today that the last time I posted anything was February 26th, so I thought it might be time for me to put my two cents in.

First, on the athletic front, we’ve had some disappointment.  After an undefeated regular season, we lost by 1 at the last second in our championship game.  Which was not fun, but the game (and the season) was really lots of fun.  I guess we have two more years to bring home the title and the coveted intramural champion t-shirt.  Intramural ultimate frisbee has started now, and I actually have a double header tomorrow, games at 10 and 11, so that’s been helping me move on from basketball.  It’s also starting to really feel like spring (finally) and I played tennis today for the first time since we’ve been here!

Watching sports has unfortunately also been a bitter disappointment.  I can’t remember a worse NCAA tournament.  Basically, I cheer for Wake and Duke, and then the rest of the ACC, minus UNC.  So thus, far in the tourney, Wake got killed in the first round, Duke lost last night, and the rest of the ACC has already bombed out, except of course, the one team, UNC, who I want to lose.

School is going well and this semester is rapidly coming to close.  Three more weeks before finals!  Luckily for me, aside from finals, I don’t have too much work.  My last New Testament paper was due this past Tuesday and the rest of my work seemed to be due earlier in the semester than normal.

I think that’s about it!

the day before the first day of spring!

hi blog world. this is going to be a teaser-post. i dont have a lot of time to write, and prob won’t have to time write more until next week… but for the sake of keeping the 12.5 views a day we get here satisfied… here is a quick update (with no pictures… so disappointing i know.)

the highlight is that my parents came last weekend! it was amazing to have them here. we went out to some great dinners. i was able to cook for them. they got to meet our friends here. they got to see me teaching classes at work. they took us on an UNREAL grocery trip and now our freezer is stocked with enough meat to feed an army. we shared a few episodes of the west wing with them. we played mexican train dominoes and scrabble. we watched the ncaa selection show (go noles!). they went to church with us. annnndddd…. i think there is a lot more, but thats all i got for now! ha. i told you it would be a quick update! but all that to say, we loved them being here and are so grateful for the gift that they are. pictures will follow soon i am sure!

i leave again today for a conference in tennessee so nick will be fully occupied by hundreds of basketball games in the next four days. last time i was gone he also had the same dinner two nights in a row with our neighbor downstairs (his wife was gone too..) which consisted of steaks, potatoes, and donuts. so i am not too worried about him going hungry. we have our brackets filled out (he picked pitt, and i’ve got carolina winning it… come on heels…) so march is officially here which make me happy. if nick gets inspired maybe he’ll post again soon, but until next week, lots of love from princeton.

wow… we have been slacking off a bit. my apologies… some highlights of the last few weeks:

-snow: well, i dont know if this would be a highlight, but it did happen. i think it was like 8 inches but i dont exactly remember. unlike most states in the south, this amount of snow does not shut everything down unfortunately. i went into work at 12, and nick had his afternoon classes but it was still nice to get to sleep in.  below are some fotos of what it looked like up here.

lots of snow!

i have to admit, it is kind of pretty right after it falls.

-west wing: nick and i have begun watching the west wing on dvd, we are only on season one but thus far we are loving it. i think we watched 4 episodes last week. its awesome because its not 2 hours long like a movie, so you can easily just sit down, watch an episode, and eat some homemade ice cream 🙂

-nick get this week off which is a much needed break for him. between a greek midterm and a pretty intense paper on john 9 last week, its nice for him to have some time off. he is reading the 7th harry potter book for his fantasy literature class, as well as trying to keep up his reading in all of his other classes.

-winston: the BEST part of the last two weeks was my time in winston last weekend. i left on thursday and got back yesterday and it was just a beautiful time. one of my favorite things in the the entire world is reuniting with someone i love… and that happened like 28 times in the past 4 days. i was able to see nick’s parents and enjoyed greatly the time i had with them. and i also saw my AMAZING 6th grade girls on friday and loved just laughing with them (fotos below). the main reason i was there was to help my best friend kelly with plans for her upcoming wedding! we went cake-tasting, ran lots of errands, i surprised her with a mini-shower with her relatives. and then we did lots of prep work on her invitations. it was so good to be with kel, as well as her sweet family. this is just a snippet of all that happened, but needless to say, i love that place. (it also was 76 degrees, so that added to the beauty of the weekend!)

i LOVE these girls.

guess which hand is mine.

we played a fun game... i told them a situation, then they reacted and i took a pic of it... this was seeing one of their classmates naked. hilarious!

i dont exactly remember the situation for this, but it must have been something awesome.
