News and Notes

It seems like time flies when you’re having fun, or even when you’re not.  It’s hard to believe that my last semester is half way over!  It seems like yesterday we moved to Princeton.  Classes are going well, but May and graduation looms large.  Trying to sort through the options for next year can be a dizzying process at times.  All we know right now is that our lease is up June 30th, and at that point, we have to move somewhere.

So what’s been going on lately?

Well, first, Sarah dominated the Disney half marathon down in Orlando a couple of weekends ago.  It was nice to have the sunshine and warm weather, as well as see family.

Second, intramural basketball.  Sarah and my co-ed team is still undefeated with only one regular season game left to go.  I think we have a good shot at bringing home a t-shirt this year.  My all guys team is hanging on at 2-2, but we’ve locked up a playoff spot at least.

I realize basketball is going to be a theme here.  Now to fantasy basketball.  Sarah and I are in two leagues this year, one with family, and the other with some friends from the seminary.  At first, I wasn’t sure I wanted to do it, but Sarah talked me into it, and now in the Seminary league, we are in the finals with $240 on the line.  We haven’t lost yet this season, so hopefully we won’t start now!

College basketball: This is my favorite time of the year.  The conference tournaments are going on now and March Madness is really close.  Wake had possibly their worst year ever, but at least they spared me the anguish of dashed hopes in the tournament again.  This year they decided to be bad the whole season instead of the postseason.

On a non basketball note, in my free time, I’ve gone back in time 20 years, and am working on beating the original Super Mario Brothers.  I beat it using the warps, and now I’m trying to beat it going through every single level, which is more difficult than I remember because you can’t save it!

Sarah and I have also been watching the TV show Bones on Netflix.  Would definitely recommend it.

Think that’s it.
